Privacy Policy
Your privacy and data protection rights
Last Updated: September 2, 2026
We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal information. This policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your data. We review this statement from time to time, and you should too.
Cookies & Consent
We use cookies and similar technologies on this website. How we use them depends on where you visit from:
- Essential cookies keep the site workin, sign-in sessions, security, and remembering your consent choice. These are always active.
- Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) help us understand how the site is used. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and similar jurisdictions, these are only set after you opt in.
- Marketing cookies measure campaigns. Also opt-in only where required by law.
Visitors from those regions see a consent banner with equal Accept and Reject options. Elsewhere we may use analytics by default where local law permits, and you can manage your preferences at any time via the cookie banner or your browser settings.
We determine your approximate location from your IP address (MaxMind GeoLite2) solely to apply the correct consent rules. That lookup is not used for profiling or advertising.
Your consent choice is stored locally on your device (localStorage and a first-party cookie) and is never linked to your account or personal data.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide voluntarily
We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide when you create an account, purchase or request services, contact support, subscribe to updates, or participate in surveys. This may include your name, email address, phone number, company information, and billing address.
Copyright and case information
When you use our DMCA services, we collect the information needed to act for you: details of your copyrighted content, URLs of infringing copies, evidence of ownership, and the contact information to be included in legal notices.
Information collected automatically
When you visit our website, we automatically collect technical information, such as your IP address, browser type, device and operating system, pages visited, access times, and referring website addresses, to operate and maintain the quality of the service and to produce general usage statistics. We also track browsing within our site (which pages and services are most popular) so we can improve the service and, where permitted, customize the content and advertising you see.
Public disclosure warning: Information you disclose in public parts of our site, and contact details included in takedown notices, are necessarily shared with hosts, platforms, and other recipients. Such information may be collected and used by others, and we cannot control that use.
We do not read your private online communications. Where we host or process content you register with us (for example, evidence files and monitoring targets), we access it only as needed to provide the service you requested.
2. How We Use Information
To provide the service
- Process and fulfill your takedown and protection requests
- Operate content monitoring and reporting features
- Manage your account, plan, and billing
- Communicate with you about your cases and requests
For legal compliance
- Send the legally required DMCA notices you authorize
- Keep records of notices, counter-notices, and case history
- Comply with court orders and other legal process
- Prevent fraud and abuse of our services
To improve the service
We analyze usage patterns and trends to understand which services are most popular, improve features, and plan new ones. We may invite you to take part in surveys for research purposes; participation is optional.
Marketing and partner offers
We do not sell, rent, or lease our customer lists to third parties. With your consent (or where lawfully permitted), we may use your contact details to tell you about our own related products and services, or contact you on behalf of a business partner without transferring your unique personal data to that partner. Every marketing message includes an unsubscribe link, and you may opt out at any time.
Sensitive data: We do not disclose sensitive personal data, such as race, religion, or political affiliations, without your explicit consent.
3. Information Sharing & Disclosure
Recipients of your takedown requests
When processing takedowns, we necessarily share the required information with website owners and hosts, platforms and search engines, ISPs, and domain registrars. The contact details in your notice become visible to those recipients.
Service providers
We share data with trusted providers who help us operate: payment processors (Stripe, NowPayments), our hosting and CDN providers, email delivery services, and error/uptime monitoring. These providers may only use the data to perform services for us and must keep it confidential.
Legal requirements
We may disclose personal information without prior notice where we are required to do so by law or where we in good faith believe disclosure is necessary to: comply with legal process; enforce or protect our rights, property, or the rights of others; or protect the safety of users or the public in exigent circumstances.
We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.
4. Data Security
We protect your personal information against unauthorized access, use, and disclosure using technically and commercially reasonable safeguards, including:
- SSL/TLS encryption for all data in transit, including sensitive submissions
- Access controls limiting data to personnel who need it to perform their roles
- Optional two-factor authentication available on every account
- Audit logging of administrative actions on customer records
- An incident response process, including breach notification where required by law
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your data has been compromised, contact us at privacy@webdmca.com.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes in this policy:
- Account information: retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period after closure for legal compliance.
- DMCA case records (notices, evidence, correspondence): retained for up to 7 years, because notices may be challenged and claims may arise long after submission.
- Marketing data: retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion, whichever comes first.
- Analytics data: anonymized and aggregated data may be retained indefinitely for business insights.
6. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location (for example in the EEA, UK, California, and other jurisdictions), you may have the following rights:
Access
Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
Correction
Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
Deletion
Request deletion of your personal information (subject to legal record-keeping requirements).
Portability
Receive your data in a portable format.
Objection
Object to processing for marketing purposes at any time.
Restriction
Request restriction of processing in certain circumstances.
How to exercise your rights: Contact us at privacy@webdmca.com or use our contact form. We respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to your local data protection authority.
8. International Transfers
As a global service, we may transfer personal information across international borders, for example, where our infrastructure or service providers are located outside your country. Where we transfer data from the EEA or UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (or a similar permitted mechanism) with our providers.
9. Children's Privacy
Our services are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Our services are intended for adults; you must be at least 18 to use them. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete it promptly. Parents or guardians who believe their child has given us information should contact us immediately.
10. External Websites
Our site may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of those sites. We encourage you to review the privacy statement of every website you visit, especially before providing personal information.
11. Policy Changes
We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. Changes are posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date; for material changes we also notify account holders by email or site banner. We encourage you to review this statement periodically. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
12. Contact Information
Complaints or questions about our adherence to this policy can be sent to privacy@webdmca.com. We will make commercially reasonable efforts to remedy any problems promptly.
