Registration mechanics

Three steps, then it watches your back

The badge isn't decoration, it's a dated, verifiable claim of ownership that strengthens every takedown you ever file and warns thieves before they start.

The badge-holder perk. Sites whose badge is verified for 30+ days get one free Standard takedown ($99 value) every year. The verification check happens when we scan your homepage for the badge code.

  1. 1

    Register your domainhashed

Create the badge in your dashboard. Registration captures the domain, date, and a SHA-256 fingerprint, the tamper-evident anchor.

  2. 2

Straight talk

What a badge does, and doesn't, do

It does

  • Deter casual theft, most scrapers skip badged targets
  • Date and fingerprint your ownership claim publicly
  • Signal professionalism to buyers and partners
  • Earn a free managed takedown each year once verified

It doesn't

  • Stop determined pirates, nothing on your page can
  • Replace monitoring for finding copies elsewhere
  • Guarantee content security (our terms say so plainly)

The badge is the sign on the door; monitoring and takedowns are the alarm and the response.

Badge FAQ

Asked at registration

How the badge works

From one line of HTML to a verifiable record

1
Choose and embed

Pick a badge from the gallery or generate your own combination of style, size and colorway. Paste one line of HTML, or install the WordPress plugin.

2
Register your domain

Registration is free and takes an email address. Your certificate page goes live at webdmca.com/protected/your-site.com immediately.

3
The check runs

Our checker visits your registered homepage and looks for the badge, the certificate flips to verified when the badge is actually detected, not when you claim it.

4
The record builds

Registration date, verification status and check history accumulate on the public certificate: a dated, third-party-verifiable record that the site enrolled.

5
The loyalty kicks in

Verified 30+ days earns one free managed Standard takedown per year, a real $99 case, not a discount coupon.

Honest limits, stated plainly: a badge deters opportunistic scraping and documents enrollment. It does not stop determined pirates, cannot prevent copying, and is not insurance, our terms say exactly that. What it does provide is a public, dated, verifiable record and a real annual takedown.

Put a verifiable claim on your work.

Register free, pick your design, let the certificate do the talking.
