Displays the WebDMCA protection badge in your WordPress footer, with 82 live designs, a public protection certificate, and one-click DMCA takedown filing.

== Description ==

The WebDMCA Protection Badge shows visitors and scrapers that your site is registered with a DMCA takedown service, and links to your public protection certificate at webdmca.com/protected/yourdomain.

* 82 badge designs, streamed live from webdmca.com and picked visually in your admin, grouped by family with light and dark themes
* Editable accent color, badge text, size, alignment, and link target
* Optional footer placement plus a [webdmca_badge] shortcode for pages, posts, widgets and blocks
* One-click registration: the Register & verify button signs you in at webdmca.com and verifies the badge placement on your site automatically
* Public protection certificate for your domain
* Managed DMCA takedown filing from the settings page when you find stolen content (paid service, from $49 per case; the badge and certificate are free)

This plugin is brought to you by WebDMCA (https://webdmca.com), a service of Cognixa Labs LLC (https://cognixalabs.com). Support: support@webdmca.com.

External service: badge images, the design catalog and service pricing are fetched from webdmca.com and cached for up to an hour (12 hours for the rendered snippet). No scripts run on your site beyond the badge image tag itself; no tracking, no analytics, no personal data is sent.

== Installation ==

1. Upload the `webdmca-badge` folder to `/wp-content/plugins/`, or install the zip via Plugins, Add New, Upload Plugin.
2. Activate the plugin. The badge appears in your footer immediately.
3. Open Settings, WebDMCA Badge, pick a design and save.
4. Click Register & verify this site to link the badge to your free WebDMCA account; your certificate goes live after verification.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= Does the badge actually stop content theft? =

A badge alone does not file lawsuits. It signals that the site is registered with a takedown service, which deters most casual scrapers. The enforcement behind it is webdmca.com: monitoring that finds copies, and managed takedowns from $49 per case.

= Will it slow my site down? =

No. The badge is a single SVG image streamed from webdmca.com and cached by your visitors' browsers. The plugin adds no scripts, styles, or database tables to your site.

= Is there a pro version? =

No. The plugin is free and complete; every design, the certificate, everything. Paid services (takedowns, monitoring) live on webdmca.com and are optional.

= What if webdmca.com is unreachable? =

The plugin keeps working: the last rendered badge snippet is cached, and settings use a built-in fallback design list.
